Nobina has been awarded an extended contract by Oulu Regional Transport, through a new agreement for city and regional bus services in Oulu. Operations are scheduled to commence in June 2027 and represent a further step towards fossil-free public transport, with all 24 buses in the contract being fully electric.

The new agreement runs for eight years, with an option for a further two years, and means that Nobina will continue to expand its operations in Oulu with additional electric and zero-emission vehicles.

“We are very pleased that Oulu Regional Transport and Nobina have chosen to continue developing public transport in Oulu together, with a strong focus on sustainability and the passenger experience. We are proud of the continued trust and look forward to our ongoing collaboration,” says Topi Simola, CEO of Nobina Finland.

In total, the assignment comprises 24 in service buses that will operate both regional and city services.

The award decision may be appealed until 5 February 2026.
