Nobina makes large investment in new biogas buses
Nobina invests over half a billion SEK in new buses for regional traffic. The new buses will be put into service in Skåne and Uppland as of summer 2012.
In 2012, Nobina starts extensive regional traffic in Skåne and Uppland among other places, as a result of previous contract wins in the autumn. Prior to the traffic start Nobina invests in 121 buses from Scania, out of which 109 are biogas buses, as well as 76 new buses from Volvo. The new vehicles are adjusted for the different contracts and are among the most environmental friendly alternatives in the market. In addition to the new buses, Nobina will use vehicles from the existing fleet, after being upgraded to comply with the new environmental demands.
- This is one of Nobina’s larger bus investments in recent years. The requirements for the bus fleet are regulated in the traffic contracts, where a common solution is a combination of newly purchased buses and buses that have already been used in the operations. The more standardized the buses are, the wider range of applications within the group over time, requiring long term planning and sound technical knowledge.
