Nobina has again been entrusted by HSL to operate and develop bus services in the Helsinki region. The total value of the six contracts is estimated at SEK 1.2 billion over the contract periods, which are seven years and one year, respectively, with the option to extend by three years. Traffic is scheduled to start in August 2019 and comprises a total of 115 scheduled buses.

The tendering process and the new services will enable HSL to take further steps towards more sustainable public transport by rewarding environmental classification. All the new vehicles will have the highest environmental standard, Euro 6.
“We are proud of the trust shown in us by HSL to continue the development of transport services in the Helsinki region, while contributing to both better public transport and air quality,” says Tom Ward, CEO of Nobina Finland.
The award decision can be appealed until 11 December 2018.
