From 2002 to 2012, 80 new hotels were built in North Dakota, with slightly more than 50 percent constructed in the last two years alone. Forty-two new hotels have been built in the state since 2011, adding 3,500 rooms, and 39 properties announced plans to add 3,678 rooms in 2013, according to North Dakota Tourism .
