Novacura wins prestigious assignment for state energy company Statnett
Gothenburg company Novacura continues to gain ground all over Europe. In Norway, increasing numbers of companies are seeing the benefits of the Flow tool. After keen competition, Novacura has now won the tender recently offered by the Norwegian state energy company Statnett.
"Things are looking very bright for us in Norway. We have already supplied Flow to several companies within the oil industry, and now, with Statnett choosing us above all the competition, we get this really weighty assignment in the energy sector. It's a massive success for us, and it represents a big step into the Norwegian market," says Novacura's Managing Director Johan Melander.
Gothenburg-based IT company Novacura goes from strength to strength with their Flow product, which simplifies and streamlines company processes. Norway is the most exciting market at the moment, when the state energy company Statnett chooses Flow to construct a mobile solution for their station maintenance.
"Statnett has 130 technicians doing maintenance work on Norwegian substations and grids using iPhones and iPads. Our task is to develop a mobile solution that works for all periodic maintenance, error reporting and any scenarios that could possibly arise. One important feature is that the solution must work even without coverage," says Johan Melander, MD of Novacura.
Novacura adds support for MDM, Mobile Device Management, so that the existing secure mobile system that Statnett gets from Mobileiron will work with Flow.
"Statnett has "classified" installations and places rigorous demands on the systems' security. This of course means stringent requirements for us, which is fine. Flow works excellently in all environments."
The Norwegian energy company is convinced they have chosen the most suitable tool for their needs.
"We chose Novacura because they had the best offer from an overall perspective. They have excellent understanding of the processes we want to develop support for. The Novacura Flow product was the most mature product that met Statnett's needs, both in terms of support for iOS and support for offline work processes," says Jan Erik Hestad, project manager and senior advisor at Statnett.
The project has just started. Deployment is scheduled for spring 2015 following extensive safety tests. After the agreed integrations, there may be other processes at Statnett, both operational and administrative, where there is potential for improvement using Novacura Flow.
