NSP secures long-term financing and begins new growth phase
The restaurant company NSP Restaurants AB (Publ) secures new financing from Avenue Europe that will enable NSP to refinance existing debt and open several new KFC and Burger King restaurants in Sweden and Denmark. The financing includes 340 MSEK in loans and a further 90 MSEK for investments in fixed assets in both new and existing restaurants.
NSP today announced it has secured new debt financing from the Europe Strategy of global investment firm Avenue Capital Group (“Avenue Europe”). The SEK 340 million loan from Avenue Europe is to be used to refinance approximately SEK 280 million in previous loans and enable the company’s expansion in Sweden and Denmark.
During 2024, the company intends to open six new KFC restaurants – out of which four are in the Stockholm area – and one Burger King restaurant in Halmstad. After that, NSP plans to add five to seven new restaurants annually.
- “We are continuously looking for attractive locations and the new financing makes NSP a strategic and secure financial partner,” says Johan Persson, CEO NSP.
In addition, the new financing solution means that NSP strengthens its position in the market by remodeling existing restaurants to the latest concepts. About 30 restaurants are planned to be remodeled until 2026.
- “We are pleased to now have on board long-term financial partners who support our business and its continued expansion. The collaboration with Avenue Europe further strengthens the opportunities to refine and expand our portfolio of stable and profitable restaurants,” says Martin Jallinder, CFO NSP.
- Jon Ford, Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Avenue Europe, said: “We are excited to support NSP in its new phase of growth. This investment is consistent with our strategy of providing senior secured loans to high-quality companies with strong market positions.”
At the end of the year, NSP will have a total of 24 KFC restaurants in Sweden, and 66 Burger King restaurants in Sweden and Denmark.
