NYAB wins turnkey contract for railway project
During March, NYAB signed a turnkey contract for replacement of track switches on a railway section in the middle of southern Sweden with an estimated value of around SEK 140 million.
The project, with the Swedish Transport Administration, includes planning and replacement of 26 track switches and approximately 2.7 kilometers railway track between Katrineholm and Hallsberg on the Västra Stambanan connecting Stockholm and Gothenburg.
The agreement is a collaborative project with ongoing billing as compensation form.
"We have many collaborative projects where our collaborative concept of working for high quality and efficiency is highly appreciated by customers. It is gratifying that the Swedish Transport Administration has chosen us in its evaluation, and we look forward to do this in close cooperation with them", says Johan Skoog, Vice President at NYAB Sverige AB.
The project is one in a series of assignments in the railway area that NYAB has signed in the past two years, and competence and experience in the area is growing strongly within the organisation.
“This is one of the largest railway projects we've undertaken thus far, representing a series of significant recent orders we've secured. We are very proud of winning this trust and humbled by the assignment as it demonstrates our competitive offering and further strengthens our position in this niche", says Skoog.
NYAB will immediately start with planning and land work. The track gear changes will take place in 2025 and 2026.
