OrganoWood Nowa: An environmentally friendly product with good SRI-results
OrganoWood is proud to present our latest product, OrganoWood Nowa, which has shown good results in the recent Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) test. These tests indicate that OrganoWood Nowa is an excellent choice for sustainable construction, especially for those using "Cool Roof" technology.
In today's modern architecture, we increasingly see new buildings with light-colored roofs that blend with light facades, instead of the traditional dark roofs. This design trend is not only about aesthetics but also serves an important environmental function. Dark roofs contribute to so-called urban heat islands, which means that urban areas become significantly warmer than the surrounding countryside. This can have major consequences for both people and the environment, including an increased need for cooling during summer, leading to higher energy consumption and strain on non-renewable resources.
OrganoWood Nowa has undergone tests to measure its SRI value, which combines the material's solar reflectance and emittance. The Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) is measured on a scale from 100 to 0, where 100 corresponds to white and 0 corresponds to black in terms of light reflection ability. A high SRI value means that the material is effective at reflecting solar radiation and minimizing heat absorption. Our latest report from RISE shows that OrganoWood Nowa has an impressive SRI value of 77,1 ±2. (According to The Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, snow and ice reflect up to 80%) This makes the product an excellent choice for roof terraces and panels, especially in urban environments where minimizing the risk of creating urban heat islands is desired.
OrganoWood Nowa represents our commitment to environmentally friendly solutions and innovations in the construction industry. By using products with high SRI values, we can work together to reduce global warming and create more sustainable urban environments.
