Axellus buys Pharma-Vinci

Axellus Group acquires the company Pharma-Vinci A/S and strengthens its commitment to the pharmacies in Denmark.

Pharma-Vinci was established in 1941 and develops, manufactures and markets dietary supplements and women's health products for pharmacies and health food stores. Pharma-Vinci's primary brands are UniKalk calcium supplements and Vivag intimate care products for women. While the company's home market is Denmark, Pharma-Vinci delivers to pharmacies in all the Nordic countries.
 
In 2011, Pharma-Vinci had total sales of approximately DKK 50 million and 35 employees.

"With this acquisition, Axellus is strengthening its focus on the pharmacy sector in Denmark, but also in the other markets in which we are present. Pharma-Vinci has strong branded goods which complement Axellus' portfolio. This acquisition will generate substantial synergy gains and create a broad platform for further expansion," says Axellus CEO Stig Ebert Nilssen.

Under the agreement, Axellus will acquire 100% of the shares in Pharma-Vinci, which is currently owned by international investors and private individuals. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Pharma-Vinci will become part of Axellus, Denmark.

Axellus Group is the Nordic region's leading supplier and marketer of a broad range of dietary supplements and health products. The Nordic countries, the Baltics, the Czech Republic and Poland are the company's home markets, but Axellus is also widely represented in many European countries. Some of the company's best known brands are Möller's, Gerimax, Pikasol, Nutrilett and Maxim. Axellus' products are primarily sold through grocery retailers, health food stores and pharmacies. In 2011, Axellus Group had total sales of NOK 1,262 million and 419 employees. Axellus is part of Orkla Brands.
