Changes in Outokumpu’s Leadership Team

Liam Bates, B.Sc. hons Economics, MBA, has been appointed President, Long Products with immediate effect. Kari Tuutti, who has been leading business area Long Products since 2014, has decided to pursue his career outside Outokumpu. In his new position, Liam Bates will report to CEO Heikki Malinen, but he will not continue as a member of the Outokumpu Leadership Team.

Liam Bates has been working at Outokumpu since 1993 in various positions including Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Head of Quarto Plate Europe and Supply Chain Management. He has been a member of the Outokumpu Leadership Team since 2015.

Says CEO Heikki Malinen: “I am extremely happy to appoint Liam to lead our Long Products business. Liam’s broad experience in various areas within Outokumpu will provide an additional boost to the strategic review of Long Products which will be completed during 2020.”
