Outokumpu appoints Johann Steiner as Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Health, Safety and Sustainability. He will report to CEO Mika Seitovirta and become a member of Outokumpu Leadership Team. Mr. Steiner will be responsible for Outokumpu’s global human resources and health, safety and sustainability activities, and he will be based in Outokumpu head office in Espoo, Finland.

Johann Steiner, born 1966, is a German citizen and holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from University of Passau. Prior to joining Outokumpu, he has held several senior human resources positions such as Group HR Director at SAG Group GmbH and Head of Group HR at Clariant International AG.

“Johann has over 20 years of experience in human resources in international companies, and his breadth of experience especially in large scale mergers will be tremendously valuable for us,” says CEO Mika Seitovirta.

Steiner will start at Outokumpu by the end of March 2013. Until then Pii Kotilainen, current Executive Vice President, Human Resources, will continue in a pro tem role. She will leave Outokumpu after ensuring a good handover of responsibilities.

“Pii has been a valued partner to me and her contribution will be missed. During her four years she has made strides in developing our human resources function, and developed global processes that lay the foundation on which we can now build on when moving to the next phase – integrating Outokumpu and Inoxum and creating the new global leader in the stainless steel market,” says Mika Seitovirta.
