LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center Celebrates National Senior Health & Fitness Day
Local activities part of national movement to promote a healthy lifestyle
Erie, PA – The LECOM Medical Fitness & Wellness Center will join an estimated 1,000 local events to celebrate the 18th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day (NSHFD) on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. As an official host site, the center will provide a “Stroke Prevention” educational discussion, an opportunity to experience a senior group fitness class, “Chair Yoga,” and enjoy a guided stretch and walk. Participants will receive a complimentary lunch.
LECOM Wellness Center members and guests will join with an estimated 100,000 seniors across the country to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, good nutrition, and preventive care. According to Tyler Travis, executive director of the LECOM Wellness Center, “Our National Senior Health and Fitness Day is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to make, renew, and revitalize their commitment to live healthier lives through better health and fitness."
