The Summer Social Scene: How Chautauqua Institution Merged Social Media With 137 Years of Tradition
Join PRSA - Northwestern PA chapter on Thursday, Oct. 20, 12-1 p.m., at the WQLN Learning Center as George Murphy, chief marketing officer and vice president of brand management at Chautauqua Institution, offers insights behind Chautauqua's marketing effort this past symmer. Integrating traditional public relations efforts with Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, paid search and one of the region’s first blogger events, Murphy and his staff significantly increased awareness, engagement and ticket sales.
In his role at Chautauqua, Murphy is charged with aligning Chautauqua's brand with its new strategic plan and creating digital programs to extend the nine-week season. Murphy has marketed and developed brands worldwide for more than 20 years, including posts as senior vice president of global marketing for DaimlerChrysler, chief marketing officer for Ford Motor Company and vice president of worldwide product management for GE Lighting.
