Online services for trademarks and designs are now also available with Estonian identification means
The Finnish Patent and Registration Office’s (PRH) online services for trademarks and designs can now also be logged into using Estonian eIDAS identification means.
With eIDAS identification, Estonian citizens can log into our services for trademarks and designs using their Estonian identification means, such as an electronic identity card.
On the identification page of the service, Estonian users first select “Other European identification" as their identification method and then click on their own country.
Use our services for example to apply for a Finnish trademark or design registration, to renew your trademark registration, or to respond to an office action about your trademark.
Trademark applications can be filed in English
Your trademark application can also be in English. In that case, however, you must choose whether the application is processed in Finnish or in Swedish.
Estonian trademark applicants can file applications on their own, without a representative. In contrast, applicants who have neither a domicile nor a registered office within the European Economic Area (EEA) must appoint a representative residing in the EEA.

About us
We work for the benefit of companies and organizations.
We register companies, associations, foundations and other organizations and corporations, as well as enterprise mortgages and LEI codes. We examine and grant patents and register utility models. We also register trademarks for products and services and provide design protection. We oversee and approve auditors and monitor foundations and the collective management of copyright.
We offer our customers advisory services and courses. We give information about companies, organizations, corporations and immaterial rights.
Our office is an International Searching Authority (ISA) and International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA) for international PCT patent applications.
Our office comes under the administrative sector of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment (MEAE), and we negotiate each year with the MEAE on our performance targets. Our office is subject to net budgeting, meaning that about 95% of our expenses are covered by the income we make from our services.
