Recall of Acapulco Organic Tortilla Chips as a precautionary measure

Paulig is making a recall of Acapulco Organic Tortilla Chips Chili 125G, Acapulco Organic Tortilla Chips Sea Salt 125G, Acapulco Organic Tortilla Chips Paprika 125G and Acapulco Organic Tortilla Chips Sour Cream 125G in all markets due to the presence of atropine and scopolamine in the product. This is a precautionary measure. The product complies with current EU legislation, but if consumption of the product exceeds moderate levels the daily reference dose of atropine and scopolamine can be exceeded.
Atropine and scopolamine are organic compounds naturally occurring in plants that can be detected in corn fields. There are no health risks when consumed in moderation. Excessive consumption of products containing atropine and scopolamine might cause the following temporary symptoms: nausea, dizziness and headaches.
