Arto Tiitinen appointed Ponsse Oyjs President and CEO
At its meeting on Wednesday 11 February 2004, Ponsse Oyjs Board
of Directors appointed MBA Arto Tiitinen (44) the companys new President
and CEO. Mr Tiitinen will take up his new post on 1 April 2004. He will
take over from Tommi Ruha, who is leaving Ponsse. Arto Tiitinen joins
Ponsse from tractor manufacturer Valtra Oy, where he has worked for
the past 18 years in a range of sales and marketing management jobs.
In his most recent position, Tiitinen was responsible for Valtras global
sales, marketing and communications.
Ponsse is currently undergoing a phase of strong international growth
and Arto Tiitinens appointment is a natural continuation of the companys
development. Arto Tiitinens long experience in building Valtras sales
channels and in marketing will further consolidate Ponsses position as
a leading edge manufacturer of cut-to-length harvesting forest machines
both in Finland and in the export markets,ö notes Einari Vidgrén Chairman
of Ponsses Board of Directors.
Ponsse Oyjs President and CEO Tommi Ruha has agreed that his contract
will end on 12 February 2004. Ruha has served as Ponsses President and
CEO since 2001.
Ive served Ponsse for eight extremely interesting and industrious years
and now its the familys turn and time for new plans. The companys
order books are healthy and the organisation works well so there should
be no difficulties during the transition period. As one financial year gives
way to another, it seems appropriate to hand over the operative and
strategic leadership to those who will be running the business in the
future,ö says Tommi Ruha.
Tommi Ruhas job will be done by Deputy President and CEO Juha
Vidgrén until Tiitinen takes over on 1 April 2004.
