PONSSE PLC PRESS RELEASE 27 AUGUST 2008

Ponsse at FinnMetko 2008 exhibition

We have, in our usual Ponsse way, paid attention to our customers' needs and
wishes and forwarded those needs and wishes to our product development
department for further processing. This has resulted in numerous product
improvements and innovations which have been thoroughly tested and taken into
production. Our product lines are now more effective than before. In the past
year, we have invested in quality improvements on all fronts. In FinnMetko we
tell about our renewed products, which have already been praised as excellent.

We aim at developing more profitable and reliable forest machines and connected
services for our customers. In the process of continuous improvement, we
analyse all feedback and strive to rapidly implement improvements in product
development.

From our harvester line novelties, FinnMetko will introduce the following
renewed models for 2008: PONSSE Ergo, Bear and Beaver.

Novelties of the harvester head product line are, for example, a new PONSSE
H53e harvester head for the Beaver harvester, developed group handling
technology, a reinforced PONSSE H8 harvester head for the largest size category
- including frame structure solutions developed for track-based machines - and
the harvester heads PONSSE 550 and 650, developed for harvesting eucalyptus.

Ponsse has the largest offering of crane products in the market with a
comprehensive selection of models, including both sliding boom cranes and
parallel cranes. As a novelty we will introduce the effective PONSSE C2 sliding
boom crane for the Beaver harvester.

Forwarders have also taken a step ahead - the PONSSE 10w is our solution for
year-round harvesting on soil with poor carrying capacity. There has been
demand for hydraulically-expandable and convertible load space both in
harvesting of timber as well as bio energy wood, and now solutions from Ponsse
are ready for introduction. On the basis of feedback from our customers, Ponsse
has developed a built-in hose set, already familiar from the K70+ crane, for
the bigger PONSSE K90+ M/S and K100+ M/S cranes.

New balanced bogies mean steadier travel, particularly in hilly terrain.
Balancing bogies are offered as an optional extra for the Bear, Ergo, and
Beaver harvesters, and the Elephant, BuffaloKing, Buffalo, Elk and Wisent
forwarders.

In our information system section the novelties we introduce include, among
others, the Opti5 PC system, the Opti2 separate measuring device used in
retrofitting, the fully renewed Opti4G 4.603 information system, the new
version of PONSSE LoadOptimizer load scale and renewed office applications.

Logger's Inn is a new Ponsse servicing unit, covering all the services needed
for highly-used forest machines. Please find further information on the
Logger's Inn service entity at the address www.ponsse.com/loggersinn

Ponsse is a good partner, as a company or a product and service provider: we
exist to help our customers to reach their goals. Now that our production plant
is optimally tuned and we are introducing our new forest machines, the support
our customers get from us is better than ever before.
