PONSSE TO START CO-OPERATION WITH MAASEUDUN KONE

Ponsse Oyj and Maaseudun Kone Oy have signed a partnership agreement to further
enhance their competitiveness. Arto Tiitinen, Ponsse’s President and CEO, explains
that through this agreement the companies are committing themselves to long-term
co-operation. "By entering into this partnership, we are seeking to ensure the
manufacture of high quality, competitive cabin frames and components for PONSSE
forest machines and the maintenance of the high domestic content of our products,"
he says.

Maaseudun Kone is renowned as a highly specialised manufacturer of safety cabins
for tractors. "I am confident that our partnership will prove very rewarding for
both companies since our operating models are very similar. Both Ponsse’s forest
machines and equipment and Maaseudun Kone’s cabins are individually tailored to
each customer. Their high quality is based on close co-operation between partners
in the fields of product design and production planning. Both companies are also
well-known for the innovative design and ergonomics of their products," Tiitinen
says.

Maaseudun Kone has extensive experience in cabin manufacturing. The company began
systematic development of cabins in 1963 when it started to manufacture safety
frames. Co-operating with major machine manufacturers since 1964, it has since
manufactured approximately 140,000 safety cabins in its cabin plant located in
Ylihärmä, South Ostrobothnia. Maaseudun Kone Oy forms part of MSK Group.
