Ponsse to Strengthen Its Distribution Network in Russia Ponsse Oyj and OOO Lespromservis of Russia have concluded a distributor agreement whereby OOO Lespromservis will market, sell and service PONSSE forest machines in Russias Komi, Kirov and Perm regions. OOO Lespromservis will be responsible for the maintenance of PONSSE forest machines and equipment, and customer training in these regions. The company is based in Syktyvkar, the capital of the Komi Republic. With the annual cut in the Komi, Kirov and Perm regions currently totalling around 15 million cubic metres, the local authorities have plans to double this volume in the next few years. This region is dynamic forest-industry zone on the European side of Russia, with investments focusing on cut-to-length harvesting method. OOO Lespromservis has 12 years strong experience in the provision of machine maintenance services for local forest companies. The company has been determined to develop its maintenance services to meet Ponsses quality standards and its new premises were recently completed in Syktyvkar. This newly signed agreement will strengthen Ponsses distribution and service network in the Russian market. Our Russian operations have developed as planned and we will remain to develop our distribution network in the country, states Arto Tiitinen, President and CEO of Ponsse Oyj. In addition to OOO Lespromservis, OOO Zeppelin Russland acts as a Ponsse product dealer in Russia. Earlier this year, Ponsse also established a subsidiary, OOO Ponsse, in St. Petersburg.
