Tapio Mertanen appointed Ponsse's Distribution Development Director

Tapio Mertanen, 41, Technician and MTD, has been appointed as Ponsse's
Distribution Development Director. He will be responsible for the development of
Ponsse's distribution network.

The new Distribution Development Director's main responsibilities will include
the implementation of the best operating methods, the integration and support of
the factories and the distribution network as well as quick and controlled
implementation of the operational function of Ponsse's new distributors in
cooperation with the management of the six strategic areas. This new position is
designed to ensure that the Ponsse brand has a strong and uniform visibility
throughout our distribution network around the world.

Mr. Mertanen joined Ponsse in 1994 and has previously worked as Ponsse's Service
Director. He will assume his new duties on 6 November 2006, and he will report
to the Group's CEO.
