Medline selected by the Electronics Industry's as Most Significant Products of the Year
Powerbox, one of Europe’s largest power supply companies, and for more than four decades a leading force in optimizing power solutions for demanding applications, proudly announced that its Medical Power supply Medline series OBM03 and OBP03 have been selected by UBM’s EDN as part of the most significant products of the year.
UBM's EDN announced the 2015 EDN Hot 100 celebrating the electronics industry's most significant products of the year based on innovation, usefulness and popularity. The technologies range from oscilloscopes and boards to wearables, embedded for IoT, desktop milling, motion sensors, open source and more.
"Promises of affordable and efficient LED lighting, smart and useful wearables, devices that sense their surroundings, advanced power systems and much more are becoming a reality thanks to engineers and the innovative electronics products they create. This year's EDN Hot 100 list leaves no doubt as to the advancements of engineering. From analogue to wireless and so many more designs, engineers created products that bring innovation to life," said Suzanne Deffree, Executive Editor, EDN.
Combining an optimized layout to facilitate natural air convection cooling with highly efficient switching topology, the OBM03 and OBP03 are designed for a continuous output power operation of 100W and 200W respectively in natural convection environment. When extra power is required, with limited forced air, the output power available increases, up to 150W at only 7.5 CFM for the OBM03 and up to 300W at 10CFM for the OBP03.
“We are honoured to be recognised by the leading media UBM’s EDN for our long terms efforts to support our customers with power solutions in medical applications" said Patrick Le Fèvre, Marketing and Communication Director, Powerbox. “In Medical applications, patient comfort is very important and reducing the level of noise and parasitic disturbances is a must. When designing equipment for medical applications, those two principles have to be considered, often requiring designers to develop products to operate in free air convection, limiting forced ventilation to peak demand. As the front of any system the power supply has to deliver high performance in such environments and that’s what the two new series Medline OBM03 and OBP03 have been designed for.”
