Alteon and ProAct enter into Nordic partnership agreement

Alteon and ProAct enter into Nordic partnership agreement ProAct IT Group has signed an agreement with Alteon Websystems, a company that is part of Nortel Networks. The agreement concerns closer collaboration in the area of tools for handling content delivered over channels such as the Internet and broadband services. ProAct, a leading Nordic integrator and specialist in the fields of infrastructure and data storage, will now be selling solutions based on Alteon's products. ProAct supplies solutions that secure the customer's access to applications and information. Part of this work involves optimising the customer's utilisation of resources, to ensure the highest possible return on investments. The analysis company Dell'Oro reports that Alteon now enjoys a dominant position in the area of Web switches, supplying equipment to most of the world's major Internet companies. More than 17,000 units are currently installed. "This working relationship will provide Alteon with a strong partner and will benefit customers," says Anders Blomberg, Alteon's Nordic regional manager. ProAct and Alteon have done business together in the past, a collaboration that resulted in a large number of satisfied customers.
