London-based law firm Bates Wells has chosen IT services provider Proact to design and implement a significant IT infrastructure refresh, along with enhanced customer support, to help them enable new ways of working.

Like many other businesses at the start of the pandemic, Bates Wells experienced the sudden transition to working from home for most of their staff. Consistent access to systems and data is key to reducing the disruption for staff as they continue to work remotely.

Through 24/7 monitoring and proactive assistance, Proact will enable Bates Wells to keep up with internal demands and pressures on their IT, as well as delivering cybersecurity assurances. As the UK’s first certified B Corp law firm, it’s crucial that the business continues to provide charities and social enterprises with the practical and commercial advice they need to grow, fundraise and reach their goals.

Acting as an extension of their IT team, Proact’s services will improve Bates Wells’ support offerings and provide even more opportunities for their IT team to focus on valuable projects, enabling the law firm to meet both their IT and business needs.

“We were seeking a well-established partner that can not only bring our systems into the 21st century, but also provide reliable support for the solutions they implement,” says Stuart McHugh, Head of IT at Bates Wells. “This is where Proact’s capabilities are key. They will help us move our IT services in the right direction for the future, drawing upon the many years of knowledge and experience they have.”

“We are immensely proud to have earned Bates Wells’ trust to implement an extensive number of solutions, supported by our dedicated managed service team of specialists,” says Martin Thompson, Managing Director of Proact IT UK. “This partnership is the latest success for Proact inside the legal services sector. The years of experience and knowledge we have developed here mean we are perfectly placed to understand the complexities and demands placed on IT systems in the legal sector.”

The new partnership with Proact will provide Bates Wells with an infrastructure refresh, including new servers, storage, networking and firewalls for a robust and scalable solution. The core solutions will be bolstered with modern Backup as a Service (BaaS), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and support services covering the new solution.
