Gent, 12 January 2012 – Proact, Europe's largest independent storage integrator, is supplying Manasco with a NetApp cluster solution.

Manasco is the ICT business of Etex Group, which is a Belgium industrial group that specialises in the production and marketing of high-quality construction material and systems. Manasco develops and maintains the infrastructure of the Etex Group and is responsible for delivering applications to the Etex user community. The team members work in different countries across the globe. The most important centres are in the Brussels and Buenos Aires regions.

Given increasing digitisation and the corresponding growth in data, the availability and flexibility of its IT infrastructure is crucial. It is an easily managed, scalable and powerful performance environment at an efficient cost price. The chosen direction and solution must allow for the current circumstances and possible future developments. It is also important that it receives reliable service from a dependable partner.

Jan Barbier, Sales Director Proact Belgium: “In the discussions we at Proact have had with Manasco, there were many cases when we heard the terms “performance” and “simplicity”. Manasco is an organisation that has enormous IT responsibilities for the Etex Group. We wanted to equip Manasco with a storage solution that will provide “performance” and “simplicity” that we are also extremely happy with.”

The foundation of the Proact proposed solution is a NetApp cluster. The system is implemented with the CIFS protocol directly on the NetApp system and via FC protocols. In addition, all snap managers are also provided for making consistent snapshots with respect to local backups. This equips the system with the tools needed to make a back-up on a second NetApp system.

The solution, including the data migration, is complemented with Proact Premium Support. This service is guaranteed 24x7x4 with Proact’s own engineers. All required software updates on the NetApp system are carried out within this service level. This means the system is always up to date and benefits from the most recently developed technologies.

Bert Janssens, Central Infrastructure Manager Manasco: “There was a need for a new storage solution due to strong growth in recent years. Manasco was looking for a storage platform that satisfied our demanding requirements regarding performance, very high availability, and simple management at a competitive price. We have found the solution with this innovative storage infrastructure.”
