Proact has successfully delivered a migration project for Aller
Proact, Europe’s biggest independent storage integrator, has supplied a storage technology solution to Aller Media Oy. This is a textbook example of how simply renewing a support agreement is not always the most economical option for the customer. Proact has supplied Aller with a NetApp storage system.
“Renewing the support agreement was our primary option, but the agreement offered to us turned out to be costly,” says Ville Laaksonen, System Architect at Aller.
“Aller was looking to extend the service life of its old equipment, but upgrading the equipment turned out to be the more viable solution. As a result, they were able to acquire more efficient equipment and additional storage capacity,” says Jarmo Kuljunlahti, Sales Manager at Proact.
Data migration was carried out according to a preliminary plan.
“When a customer invests tens of thousands of euros in a solution or service, the service provider must be able to provide security. The migration was organised by copying the data from the old system to the new one well ahead of zero hour. The new system was implemented in stages according to a carefully detailed plan, and the work was completed precisely on schedule as per our estimates,” says Kuljunlahti.
