Proact introduces powerful infrastructure and self-service portal to boost productivity at The Swedish Pensions Agency
Case study release: The Swedish Pensions Agency is in the midst of a digital shake-up that is being driven by huge amounts of data. At the same time, the agency wants to offer more innovative services that improve user experiences. To do this, the public body worked with Proact to improve its infrastructure and internal IT operations.
At the start of this project, the Pensions Agency set-out to improve the efficiency of its database cloning without compromising the performance of its production environment. The first step towards this goal was to pick a data centre storage platform.
Under the guidance of Proact, the Pensions Agency introduced NetApp’s snapshot cloning technology. This has proved to be a cost-effective choice which has significantly reduced the amount of disk space required while also making the cloning process much faster.
To achieve optimal database performance, Proact’s advanced Oracle knowledge came into play. Database clones can now be created directly by the agency’s software developers and testers using a self-service portal. Creating database clones is now possible in just ten minutes, in comparison to three hours previously, enabling much faster response times and ore time to spend of enterprise development and support.
