ProAct IT Group AB acquires security company ProAct IT Group AB yesterday signed an agreement on the acquisition of the business in the Swedish company Defcom Sweden AB with immediate admission. Defcom provides technical expertise within the field of IT- security by offering Managed Services and consultancy. The acquisition includes approximately 20 persons. Defcom is one of the leading Swedish companies in the field of security solutions, offering the service OnGuard24 which is a net based solution for Managed Intrusion Detection Services. Within the field of consultancy, different types of security analysis, developments and training are conducted on a strategic as well as technical level. Defcom has expanded heavily during 1999-2001 and the company at its most consisted of 130 people in several countries. After a period of financial difficulties with restructuring and reconstruction the company was declared bankrupt in the beginning of March 2002. ProAct acquires the Swedish part of the company with the most experienced members of staff and the OnGuard24 solution. The business will be coordinated with the rest of ProAct in the Nordic countries and resources are available to secure high competence, good quality solutions and continued satisfied customers. One of Sweden's most skilled security experts, Thomas Olofsson, and one of the founders of Defcom, will as Chief Technical Officer lead the technical and strategic development of the company.
