Archive and storage specialists Proact are underpinning their operations in northern Sweden and opening an office in Sundsvall. Ten or so new staff members will be recruited over the year. Proact has already gained a number of clients in the region.

In Sweden, Proact has already established a presence in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Linköping and Lund. Sundsvall will be the company’s fifth Swedish office. “The company is undergoing a phase of growth, and we have been considering reinforcing our presence in northern Sweden for a long time now. We perceive a major demand in this region for solutions and services in the field of storage and archiving. Sundsvall was the natural choice for a base for the company. We have a number of clients here in both the public and the private sectors, and this will allow us to provide them with better support. There is also strong trade and industry in the region,” says Lena Eskilsson, Deputy CEO of Proact and the person responsible for Stockholm and Sundsvall. Another reason for the establishment of an office here is the fact that a lot of state authorities are located in Sundsvall, and Proact has framework agreements with Verva/the National Board of Trade for public procurement in respect of servers, storage and services. “Intensive recruitment work is now in progress, and we are aiming to employ ten people before the end of the year. We are mainly looking for consultants with experience of analysis, design and implementation of storage, backup and archiving systems,” says Lars Elfner, site manager for Sundsvall. In Sundsvall and northern Sweden, Proact’s clients include Statens Pensionsverk, the Social Insurance Office, Swedish Customs, TeliaSonera and BAE Systems Hägglunds.
