ProAct secures mission-critical information for 3G developers Signs three-year contract for 24/7 support ProAct has received a strategically important order from Ericsson. The order includes project management, implementation, education and three years of support. The need for storage has increased noticeably during the last couple of years for Ericsson and ProAct's solution is dimensioned to secure the access to mission-critical information over a three-year period. The deal is worth 3,5 million SEK for ProAct. The project is aimed at making the storage management for the 3G- developers more efficient. By consolidating seven computer sites into two, something that is made possible through a SAN-solution (Storage Area Network), performance and storage capacity is dramatically increased. -This agreement with Ericsson confirms the importance of investments in IT-infrastructure. That ProAct got this contract is a result of our competence in IT-infrastructure and SAN-solutions. The importance of an efficient infrastructure with high security and performance combined with low running costs is becoming more and more of immediate interest, says Per-Arne Lundberg, CEO ProAct IT Group. The SAN-solution is based on a mirrored environment that consists of two LSI Metastor E4600 with accompanying storage servers. The advantage of the solution is primarily the scalability, which will make it possible to handle the storage requirement during the upcoming three years without any larger up scaling. Also the capacity and performance will increase substantially. Besides the project management, integration and implementation, ProAct will also be responsible for the training of the system administrators at Ericsson in the SAN-area. Furthermore, a new service agreement means that ProAct's own support staff will be stand-by with a four-hour notice, around the clock, all through the year.
