Proact streamlines Härryda Municipality’s data management and backup environment to better respond to residents' needs and requirements and to reduce costs. Proact also deliver support 24 hours a day.

Härryda municipality is located in the Gothenburg region of Sweden and has about 35,000 inhabitants. In order to meet residents' needs for IT services, and optimize data management Härryda chose to update both the storage and backup environment together with Proact.

- Effective data management is key to secure access to critical information and functionality. It also reduces the costs for Härryda Municipality. By choosing smarter storage solutions Härryda require less of disc space and can instead spend money on activities and development that residents feel are more important, says Dan Mårtensson, Regional Manager Proact.

The cooperation between Proact and Härryda began with a pilot study where Proact identified the best solution based on both economy and performance.

Härryda municipality’s new solution covers an entirely new backup platform with deduplication capacity, a technique which removes redundant copies, and optimizes the use of disc space. Härryda municipality has also been able to protect previous investments as legacy storage equipment has been included in the new solution as an extra level in the data backup chain.
