Proact supports Kinnarps IT-as-a-Service strategy to increase flexibility and resource availability

Case study release:

By delivering its infrastructure ‘as a service’, office furniture manufacturer Kinnarps is able to engage its IT resources in a more strategic fashion. With a sizeable in-house IT function, the firm sees IT as a backbone of the business. That said, with resource stretched, Kinnarps began working with Proact to outsource infrastructure management.

With Proact’s Infrastructure as a Service offering, Proact remotely manages day-to-day operations including hardware and software in the virtualised data centre environment. This solution for IT service management also encompasses Proact’s Storage as a Service and Backup as a Service, which are both funded by a ‘pay for what you use’ basis.

The unified approach to infrastructure management came with a clear division of responsibilities. Kinnarps’ IT team delivers application services to the company’s business units, while Proact looks after infrastructure services.

Sven Hellberg, Operational Manager at Kinnarps, says: “For us, scalability is the biggest advantage with having the infrastructure environment ‘as a service’. It’s easy to grow and also reduces storage. This makes us more responsive to the business and its needs.”
