Proact updates FordonsDatas’ storage environment
Proact has implemented a new storage environment for FordonsData. The solution increases data security and management capacity for business critical data. Previous IT investments have also been protected and integrated into the new solution. The agreement includes ongoing support from Proact.
FordonsData Nordic AB is a Swedish IT company providing the automotive industry with complete business system solutions covering; software, hardware, project management, training, implementation and support. Some of the companies using FordonsDatas’ systems are; Mercedes, BMW, Toyota and Sweden’s only authorized Ferrari reseller. The operations have also evolved during later years and today FordonsData also deliver their solutions as a service.
– Accessibility in our IT infrastructure is key for our business. Proact presented a solution which made it possible for us to unlock the capacity our operation requires, and at the same protect our existing investments, says Johan Thümmel, CIO, FordonsData.
To address the needs of FordonsData, Proact presented a new solution for the primary storage environment with deduplication capacity, enabling disc optimization. FordonsDatas’ previous storage infrastructure has been integrated in the new solution as a secondary storage site.
– The solution we have implemented provides a significant increase in capacity with an entirely new primary site for the storage environment. In addition to increased data security, FordonsData has created better conditions for longer backup and at the same time decreased the time for recovery. With the deduplication capacity FordonsData will also optimize disc utilization. All in all, a smarter storage solution, says Martin Ödman, Regional Manager, Proact.
