Ride, Rock, Party and Repeat with Professional Bull Riders (PBR) in Las Vegas Memorial Day Weekend
Tickets for Cowboy Spring Break on sale today
Get ready Las Vegas – Cowboy Spring Break is coming to The Strip May 22–24. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR), the world’s premier bull riding circuit, has partnered with MGM Resorts International to launch the most exciting PBR event concept ever – Cowboy Spring Break.
This Memorial Day Weekend, PBR fans are invited to Las Vegas for three days of fun in the sun, pool parties, frozen cocktails, sizzling VIP events, concerts performed by world-class artists and ultimately, the world’s best bull riders taking on the nation’s top bucking bulls at the MGM Resorts Village, a unique outdoor entertainment venue.
Headlining the three-day extravaganza is one of the PBR’s most popular and toughest event formats, the Last Cowboy Standing. The Top-50 bull riders in the world will compete Friday and Saturday in round after round of competition. If they make the 8-second buzzer, they advance. If they come up short, they’re done. The battle continues until one athlete remains and becomes the “Last Cowboy Standing.”
As the second PBR Major of 2015, the Last Cowboy Standing will be broadcast on CBS Television Network and award a total prize purse of $250,000 – $180,000 of which is guaranteed to the winner.
The MGM Resorts Village will host the first outdoor Last Cowboy Standing event scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, and at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Following each night of competition and scheduled throughout the weekend are concerts by an all-star music lineup. Artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Last Cowboy Standing is one of the most exciting event formats for fans of bull riding and we’ve had great success with the event over the past four years,” PBR’s Chief Operating Officer Sean Gleason said. “Highlighting this event as a PBR major was a natural fit and expanding the event format to feature exceptional entertainment and fun activities is something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time.”
Fans can enjoy the on-site pools, water slides, mechanical bull riding, bull rider meet-and-greets, interactive displays, shopping and a host of other activities for those who dare to attend. Cowboy Spring Break will be the must-do festival of the summer, providing an up-close-and-personal, once-in-a-lifetime experience no one will forget.
“Cowboys love Las Vegas,” Gleason said. “The PBR World Finals and the National Finals Rodeo are fantastic fall and winter events for fans of the Western lifestyle, but the pools aren’t open and the weather doesn’t always cooperate. With an average temperature of approximately 88 degrees, a 3 percent chance of precipitation and the official opening weekend for all resort pools, May is a great time to be in Las Vegas.”
Scott Voeller, senior vice president of partnership and event marketing for MGM Resorts International, said, “Partnering with PBR to expand the already successful ‘Last Cowboy Standing’ event into a full weekend of activities will provide both bull riding fans and music lovers a new outdoor entertainment experience. Guests will have the opportunity to see the Top-50 bull riders in the world compete followed immediately by a great lineup of concerts – all under the neon lights of the Las Vegas Strip.”
