Banbury-based specialist PR and marketing agency, Propel Technology, and its client MMR Research Worldwide (MMR) have been shortlisted for an award at the 2013 CIPR Thames and Chiltern PRide Awards, the region's most prestigious public relations awards scheme.

Wallingford-based MMR, research partner for the food, drink, personal and household care industries, tasked Propel Technology with raising the profile of its packaging function and associate director of packaging and design Stergios Bititsios.

Through a combination of targeted media relations, internal communications and social media outreach, the global marketing and PR campaign has helped see MMR’s total packaging research business revenue boosted from £150,000 in UK to £1.5 million across the UK and USA since mid-2011.

The judges cited the remarkable growth in turnover, coupled with the ability to work as a true partnership as key reasons why the two companies were selected. Propel Technology and MMR’s work is one of just six entries shortlisted in the Corporate and Business Communications Campaign category of the awards.

David Howlett, MMR’s Strategic Planning Director commented, “This is a great example of when having a clear business objective, recruiting the right resource, and executing a plan using a combination of marketing techniques and direct business development activity leads to significant results.

“Propel worked with us as partners from day one, understood exactly what we needed and were tireless in uncovering and then exploiting all opportunities. We are delighted with being shortlisted and look forward to the next stage of the judging process.”

The winners of all 18 awards will be announced at the 10th annual CIPR PRide awards, which will be held at Sopwell House, Hertfordshire, on November 1 2013.
