Proptivity expands Nordic presence with market launch in Norway
- Proptivity provides indoor 5G as a service to real estate market
- Proptivity is world-first neutral host provider of high-performance indoor 5G networks with service currently available in Norway and Sweden
- Proptivity and OneCo sign strategic agreement for installation and maintenance of Proptivity’s Gigabit 5G networks in Norway
Proptivity has been operational in Sweden since June 2022 and are now also officially launched in Norway. The company has already made good progress in mobilizing the Norwegian real estate market around the opportunity to create more flexible, efficient, and attractive properties using high-performance indoor 5G solutions, securing both gigabit speeds and capacity for even the most demanding users having for example a new 5G laptop.
OneCo Networks and Proptivity have today signed a strategic partnership for implementation and field support services, enabling Proptivity to deliver indoor 5G as a service to real estate owners on large scale also in Norway. Proptivity Norway AS has established office at Karvesvingen 5 at Hasle in Oslo under leadership of Stein Hansen, who has extensive background in telecom with many years from senior roles in Telenor group.
Earlier this year, Proptivity launched the commercial operation of a world-first high-performance indoor 5G multi-operator radio access (MO-RAN) network in Stockholm.
Proptivity installs and operates radio access networks as a neutral host, where all operators are invited to connect their customers to a common infrastructure for excellent indoor coverage today as well as enough capacity for tomorrows most demanding mobile use cases.
Stein Hansen, CEO Proptivity Norway says: “Indoor mobile coverage and connectivity in modern urban buildings are a great challenge due to very limited penetration of outdoor signals into the buildings and with 5G it will be even more challenging than with 4G. In today’s digitalized society, building owners, tenants and visitors need excellent connectivity wherever they are, which is mostly indoors, and they need this irrespective of which mobile operator they have a subscription with. This is where Proptivity comes in. We offer gigabit 5G connectivity in buildings without multiple installations and wasted energy consumption. We are very happy to now have a strong player as OneCo as a strategic delivery partner.”
Tommy Johansen, Product Manager Indoor Coverage, OneCo, says: “In a strategic partnership with Proptivity we are taking another step forward and take part in the implementation of high-performance mobile coverage in a market where it is well-known that poor indoor coverage creates challenges for property owners and tenants. OneCo has extensive experience in the telecom market, and in the deployment of indoor mobile coverage. We contribute to this partnership with skilled engineers, project managers, and installers who handle the planning, installation, and maintenance of the systems. We are looking forward to cooperating with Proptivity in the years to come.”
