Isala Oncologisch Centrum, one of the largest hospitals in Netherlands, has chosen RayStation as its treatment planning system (TPS) for their radiation therapy department located in Zwolle. RayStation was selected as the best solution following an extensive evaluation of the available treatment planning systems on the market. RayStation will replace the existing system currently in use at the clinic for photons, and later for electrons.

RayStation’s ability to provide an all-in-one solution for all steps in the treatment planning process was a key factor in determining its selection. The user-friendliness and overall look and feel of the system were also deciding factors, as well as calculation speed and its great reputation amongst other users, according to the center.

The purchase comprises of a broad range of functionality, including 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, multi-criteria optimization (MCO), and electron planning. RayStation will function together with the clinic’s machines from Elekta.

Rogier Janssen, Medical Physicist at Isala Oncologisch Centrum, says: “Cutting edge radiotherapy requires cutting edge software and we think that RayStation is exactly that. Treatment quality and efficiency are very important to us, and we are also confident that RayStation’s extensive feature set, impressive calculation speed, and stylish user interface will offer us great user experience as well. We are excited and are looking forward to our go-live.”

Johan Löf, CEO of RaySearch, says: “We are very happy to once again have been selected by an eminent oncology center in the Netherlands. Isala is a center that provides great care for its patients and we are glad to join them in making the best possible treatment plans. We look forward to this collaboration.

The order was delivered and generated revenue of approximately 0,5 MEUR during the third quarter of 2018.
