Realfiction Holding AB (”Realfiction”) announces that the company has installed one of its DeepFrame mixed reality displays at the LEGO headquarters in Billund, Denmark. LEGO will, during a two-week period, evaluate the patent pending DeepFrame platform, which enables mixed reality (MR) experiences without special glasses. The project is partly financed by the Danish Market Development Fund that supports innovative companies.

The first DeepFrame product on the market, that was recently awarded the ”CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree” title, is the world's largest mixed reality display. It could for example make it possible to experience human-sized LEGO characters that interact with physical objects. Realfiction is aiming at implementing DeepFrame in amusement parks, visitor centres, museums, showrooms and experiential retail. It is also possible to use the DeepFrame platform in significantly smaller, mobile phone-sized applications.

– This project is an important acknowledgement of our patent pending DeepFrame platform. The project offers a unique possibility to collaborate with LEGO, and get some valuable feedback from a company that stimulates creativity and learning in children, adolescents and adults all over the world, says Realfiction's CEO Clas Dyrholm.

Clas Dyrholm emphasises that the main purpose of the project is to contribute to the development of the DeepFrame technology as well as the company's experience platform.

– LEGO will evaluate DeepFrame together with important target groups such as children and adolescents. They will then share the information they have gathered with us, in order for us to improve and evolve the market-ready products. This will give us important insights for our further development of the platform, including the possibility for the end-consumer to easily create powerful 3D content, says Clas Dyrholm.

The project is partly financed by a grant of DKK 1,37 million by the Danish Market Development Fund that supports innovative companies. Realfiction received this grant in 2017 to further test and develop the DeepFrame platform through different initiatives. The final initiatives are completed by the summer of 2018.
