Realfiction Holding AB (“Realfiction”) has established a development cooperation with University of Southern Denmark granting Realfiction access to research facilities and assistance from associate professor Jakob Kjelstrup-Hansen, established additional electronics laboratory facilities in Copenhagen and hired freelancer M.Sc. Simon Sørensen.

Following earlier announcements of the patent pending status of the Project Echo technology and development partner Ibsen Photonics, Realfiction has established a new electronics laboratory in separate facilities in Toldbodgade, Copenhagen, and further has established a development cooperation with University of Southern Denmark, NanoSYD, giving Realfiction access to leading nanophotonics and thin film electronics laboratory facilities. All cooperations are entered on the premise that all IP rights belong to Realfiction.

Four specialists will be working full time at the laboratories with the goal of announcing a proof of concept for the Project Echo pixel technology before the end of 2019.

One of the four specialists is Simon Sørensen, a freelancer who graduated last year as M.Sc. in Physics and Technology from University of Southern Denmark and has specialized in optics and photonics.

Associate professor Jakob Kjelstrup-Hansen from NanoSYD will be consulting and supervising the laboratory work at NanoSYD. He has a Ph.d. in applied physics and nanotechnology from the Technical University of Denmark in 2006 and is a leading researcher within thin film electronics in Denmark. Jakob adds that “I am excited to assist Realfiction with this new and exciting patent pending technology which seems to be able to benefit from some of the competencies we have been building here at NanoSYD for completely different applications”.

“We are strongly focused on delivering a proof of concept for the core technology of Project Echo in 2019. The objective is to manufacture new directional pixels to allow us to show our revolutionary patent pending functionality to the world and to present a clear path to commercial mass production of displays comprising millions of such directional pixels” says Director of Advanced Display Technology at Realfiction, Steen Iversen. “By adding University of Southern Denmark to the team of Ibsen Photonics and ourselves we have completed a world class core team. Together we have the competencies required to pursue the proof of concept” adds founder and Head of R&D, Peter Simonsen.
