Realfiction launches the world´s first Mixed Reality media-channel

Realfiction launches it’s Magic-as-a-Service concept with long-term placement of mixed reality displays inside hypermarkets and other major retailers. This represents the world’s first Mixed Reality media-channel and will offer unique Mixed Reality exposure to 10’s of millions of consumers each month with significant commercial impact not only to the brands but also to Realfiction.

With the new Mixed Reality media channel, suppliers to hypermarkets and other major retailers will be able to book and buy their unique campaign to promote specific products and brands with fast-track delivery from Realfiction and its partners. 

In accordance with the preferences of and agreements with each brand, Realfiction develops and pushes the individual Mixed Reality-content to each unit from one central point. Content updates are delivered with the frequency that is required by the brand and can be changed dynamically during the day or week. Hence the term, Magic-as-a-Service (MaaS). 

With the launch of the World’s first Mixed Reality media channel, Realfiction continues its transition from sale of hardware to sale of integrated Magic-as-a-Service, defined as the complete campaign, end-to-end: Mixed Reality content delivered dynamically and with interactivity options, the hardware display, the stand with commercial wrapping as well as establishment, maintenance and removal of the campaign in due time (the logistics and maintenance being handled by a partner).

It is expected that Mixed Reality media channels delivered by Realfiction will drive millions of Danish kroner in additional revenue to Realfiction on an annual basis, starting small in the coming quarters and then accelerating towards a total additional annual revenue for Realfiction of 100 million DKK or more. Realfiction is confident that the potential for its Mixed Reality media-channel for retail is universal and Realfiction expects that it will take 2-3 years for this build up to materialize at scale.
