Tyre recyclers to be recognised with innovation award
Leading companies and individuals involved in the treatment, processing or use of end of life tyres are set to have their efforts recognised by the industry again this year. The second Michelin Innovation Award will be presented at the Tyre Recovery Association’s (TRA) annual dinner on Friday 17th June. The award will be presented to the company or person judged to have made the most significant innovation in this key area of the industry. Companies wishing to be considered for the award are required to complete a brief entry form which can be downloaded from the TRA website (www.tyrerecovery.org.uk). Within the submission entrants must give a brief outline of their innovation, explain how it is new or different and provide results which demonstrate its success and impact. The awards presentation will be the culmination of a day of activities for the tyre industry following the TIF Responsible Recycler Scheme workshop and the TRA annual forum to be held earlier in the day at the same venue in Solihull. For further details about the Michelin Innovation Award or bookings for the forum day and industry dinner, contact Christine Joyce on 0845 301 6852. Notes The Tyre Industry Federation Responsible Recycler Scheme is a uniquely successful initiative set up to ensure that all used tyres collected from any designated premises are re-used or recycled in ways which comply with UK and European statutory regulations. It is the largest voluntary tyre recovery programme in Europe. Scheme members are subject to regular spot audit and are subject to the Scheme Charter. Used tyres collected, handled or reprocessed by scheme members are tracked throughout the disposal chain so delivering full traceability and accountability. Assurance of ‘best practice’ at every stage in the process. For more information on this release or to find out more about the TRA, contact Peter Taylor or Christine Joyce on 0845 301 6852
