The section between Kungsgården and Sandviken is the world’s first electric road for heavy traffic on a public road. Inauguration of the world’s first electric highway

The grand opening of the world’s first electric highway will take place June 22th, on E16 between Kungsgården and Sandviken in Gästrikland, Sweden.  The interest during the building phase that started in November 2015 has been large. It is the first electric highway on public road in the world and the number of registered visitors on the opening day are reaching 300 people and we would especially like to invite media to this opening since we believe it will be quite an event.
