Relish Launch new recipe book with help from Michael Caines and the finest restaurants across the South West

The hugely successful Relish Restaurant and Fine Dining Guides have finally reached the South West counties of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, with the much anticipated launch of Relish South West. 

This is the 15th book in this stunning series, and celebrates the very best restaurants across the region, and have over 80 signature recipes prepared by some of the countries finest chefs. The new book goes on sale in early December, and a lavish celebration of the new book is planned at a launch event at Bath Priory on 11th December 2013.

Offering his personal insight into the culinary expertise in the region is one of the countries most celebrated chefs, and a local celebrity. Michael Caines MBE has had a glittering career which started at Exeter Catering College, where he now has his own Academy. Working at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London he had the opportunity to work for Raymond Blanc and the late Bernard Loiseau and it was Raymond Blanc who put Michael forward for the role at Gidleigh Park where he has spent the past 19 years, and achieved two Michelin stars and five AA rosettes. Michael is now Food and Beverage Director at Brownsword Hotels and Executive Chef at Gidleigh Park. He also manages to find time in his hectic schedule to fit in many television and personal appearances, as demand for his outstanding skills and passion for food has made him a national name.

Michael Caines commented on his passion for the region and the importance of local produce: ‘As a Devon boy I have always felt the importance of supporting local producers; in a rural area it helps small communities to thrive and keeps businesses and families in the region. For me, it means that I always have great produce to inspire my menus. The south west continues to lead the UK in high quality, authentic cooking with locally sourced ingredients and that’s what makes it special.’
