Rock of Eden, a California-based jewelry company, creates a charity necklace in hopes to keep the memory of the children and teachers lost in the Sandy Hook tragedy alive forever.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA - On December 14, 2012, twenty children and six school staff members were lost in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, which is now the second deadliest shooting in US history.  Rock of Eden, a jewelry company based out of Newport Beach, CA, wants to make sure the victims lost in this tragedy will be remembered, and that their families will be supported.

Elizabeth Hargreaves and Paddi Sharifian, two moms who founded Rock of Eden, have commissioned the remember necklace in honor of the families affected by the Sandy Hook tragedy. The necklace is meant to be a reminder to appreciate the moments parents have with their children, and also a symbol of support for those in Newtown who are left with only memories.

Having young children ourselves, Paddi and I continue to reflect on the tragic shooting of the children of Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Connecticut,” said Elizabeth Hargreaves, co-founder of Rock of Eden. “As parents we assume our children will outlive us because this is the natural order of things, which Sandy Hook parents had unexpectedly taken away from them. We hope that our friends and supporters will take the time to help these families by donating to the Sandy Hook Support Fund.”

The Remember Campaign starts March 1, 2013. With every purchase of a remember necklace, Rock of Eden is donating $50 directly to The Sandy Hook School Support Fund, a non-profit organization run by United Way of Western Connecticut. The remember necklace features finely rendered cursive letters that spell out “remember” in silver and dark gray rhodium, on a matching dark gray sixteen inch adjustable chain.

“As people from our area and beyond respond to this heartbreaking tragedy, they are turning to United Way looking for ways to help. In response, United Way of Western Connecticut in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank has created the 'Sandy Hook School Support Fund' that will be able to provide support services to the families and community that has been affected,” said The Sandy Hook School Support Fund.
