“I like my art to reflect the timelessness of the Santa Fe lifestyle and the environment that inspires it,” Kull says. “’Old Santa Fe’ is part of my Santa Fe collection which can be viewed at the Western Artists of America Show at the Pearce Museum. Also, you will see sculptures created with the Western Four Corners Historical View, sculptures with pottery and embedded turquoise, and even a unique sculpture called The Emergence of Kokopelli.”
“Western Art continues to be a popular investment,” said Ed Holmes, president of Western Artists of America. “Many of our WAA artists have long resumes and price points that are attractive to collectors of fine art. Roger Kull was selected to do an in-depth demonstration of his pictorial leather sculpture technique – it is very different from saddle making or leather craft. Texans and art lovers will discover that a leather canvas provides a totally unique art medium.”
“Roger’s Kull’s approach of taking the craft form of leatherwork into the fine art world is a concept that I can relate to,” said Hopi artist Gerry Quotskuyva, owner of the Pueblo Sedona Gallery. “It’s fun to question the judges and art critics’ standard concepts and make them think outside of their comfort zone. Roger’s artwork is collected by museums and private art collectors around the world.”
