Royal Blind Press Release - 22 December 2014

The young adults at Forward Vision in Edinburgh have recorded their very own Christmas musical classic – and they need votes to help win the ‘Care Home Idol’ trophy for 2014.

The regular music workshop run by Forward Vision – a service which provides support and care to 18-25 year olds with a visual impairment and additional disabilities - was given a tinsel makeover this month. Singer Amanda Roberts led the crew in a unique rendition of ‘Have yourself a merry little Christmas,’ complete with seasonal sleighbells and switches.

The video captures the lovely vocals of Amanda, accompanied by lively percussion from Michael Martin, Christopher Donovan, Alex Harpin and friends at Forward Vision. Music teacher Karl ‘Bah Humbug’ Macrae backs them up on the keyboards.

The video has been entered into the UK wide competition, 'Care Home Idol 2014’. The competition closes on 15 January 2015 and people are invited to watch and vote for the Forward Vision team at the following website: http://www.carehome.co.uk/idol/idol.cfm/id/173

Forward Vision Manager, Jan Thomson, said:-

“We are very proud of all our young adults. Music-making is a great form of communication which gets everyone involved. They worked really hard to create this video, and as you can see they did a brilliant job! I hope lots of people vote for them to be crowned the Care Home Idols of 2014!”
