Jobilla says 2022 was a strong recruitment year for companies – predicts labor market to be robust in 2023 despite recession warnings

With data showing 2022’s top 10 industries hiring new candidates, Covid-hit industries are rebounding and Jobilla predicts the labor market will remain resilient in tough market conditions in 2023.

Talent acquisition scaleup Jobilla has today announced its growth figures from 2022, with its total revenue for 2022 growing 123% compared to 2021, coming in at €10.9M – over 15 times more than four years ago. Jobilla’s growth track was springboarded by its €7M funding round in February and success in local markets with its Jobilla DACH GmbH and Jobilla Benelux BV units, but also by recovering markets such as hospitality and construction.

“2022 was a difficult year in the market due to geopolitical and macroeconomic reasons that are causing companies to be more cautious with their recruitment, which is why we’re extremely proud of the exceptionally strong growth track Jobilla followed!” says Henri Nordström, CEO of Jobilla.

Jobilla is a digital, candidate-driven talent acquisition company that utilizes social media and the best marketing strategies to help companies reach, attract, activate, and hire candidates – whether they are currently employed or not – in a way that’s optimized for the candidate and recruiter. The company processed over 283,000 candidates for 2,465 companies in over 40 countries in 2022.

Candidates can apply for jobs in less than three minutes on their phone, and the recruiter gets the candidates automatically categorized based on their potential for the position through Jobilla’s AI-powered candidate filtering. By analyzing up to 35 different metrics from the recruitment funnel, Jobilla wants to remove obstacles from the candidate’s path – one click at a time.

Jobilla’s customer segmentation has changed notably in the past few years, with the hospitality industry recovering significantly after being heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, 2022 saw more demand for Jobilla’s services in sectors that have the most prominent problems finding qualified workers, such as healthcare. According to the World Economic Forum, the Netherlands is facing a shortage of 80,000 care workers, and the World Health Organization predicts that the global healthcare workforce will be short of around 10 million people in 2030.

As the company celebrates its most successful year-to-date, it remains optimistic about the overall job market outlet for 2023. This is despite the World Bank cutting its economic forecast and issuing a global recession warning.

“Even though we’re on the brink of an economic crisis and recession, we predict that 2023 won’t see the same kind of raise in the unemployment numbers as we have had in previous depressions. The job market is one of those positive things in the industry that is keeping us afloat. For years, we’ve been struggling with a talent shortage – but now it’s evening out,” continues Nordström.

“We’ve witnessed some tech layoffs at the end of Q4 2022, but many of these are tech developers, which in previous years, have been operating in an understaffed market with huge demand, meaning they were able to pick their jobs and dictate their salaries. Generally, we expect salaries will likely equalize in 2023 as demand and supply continue to converge,” concludes Nordström.

Founded in 2015, Jobilla has raised €10.4M in total funding and has over 4000 clients in 56 countries. The company recently formed Jobilla Benelux, a new subsidiary which joins Jobilla Finland and Jobilla DACH GmbH to become the third fundamental pillar of the Jobilla Group.

In 2022, Jobilla was awarded the best recruitment marketing software by G2, one of the world’s largest review sites. US-based community The Silicon Review has listed Jobilla as one of the 50 leading companies in its yearly review.
