The report underlines the company’s dedication to industry-leading ESG principles and continuous improvements in sustainability standards with a commitment to climate neutrality by 2040.
HEROLDSBERG, Germany (April 23rd, 2024) Schwan Cosmetics, German color cosmetics manufacturer and supplier to many of the world’s biggest beauty brands, has been awarded EcoVadis Gold Medal status for its sustainability efforts, placing the company in the top performing 5% of rated companies worldwide.
Certified demonstration of sustainability credentials is becoming increasingly essential in the cosmetics industry, driven by consumer demand. To be even considered a supplier to the biggest beauty brands requires credible certification, irrespective of price, quality, or any other attributes. EcoVadis is the world's leading label for evaluating sustainability performance in the cosmetics industry and as such, serves as a critical reference for beauty brands selecting their suppliers.
Other significant sustainability achievements and commitments are outlined in Schwan Cosmetics’ newly published CSR report, with highlights in key focus areas of people, environment, product innovation, and sustainable procurement. These actions are instrumental in Schwan Cosmetics’ ambitious goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2040.
This commitment pledges ongoing active reduction in carbon footprint, further investment in renewable energy, and promotion of sustainable practices across all operations. The company’s objective is to achieve Platinum EcoVadis status next year. A clear strategy to accomplish this is already in place, identifying that although much still needs to be done, every step is essential in moving closer to the ambitious sustainability targets.
