TactoTek adds technology team and account management expertise to address high demand from automotive, industrial and appliance markets

DETROIT, MICHIGAN/OULU, FINLAND (November 15, 2016) – TactoTek, a leading manufacturer of 3D injection molded structural electronics (IMSE) solutions today announced that it has expanded North American operations with technical experts and Director of OEM Sales based in the automotive and home appliance design and manufacturing hub in the United States Midwest.

Jussi Harvela, TactoTek President and CEO, commented, “Demand for our IMSE solutions is growing very fast in North America. The best way to serve those customers is with in-market design and engineering capabilities, which is why we have built an experienced team in Michigan.

A key step in TactoTek projects is helping customers adapt traditional electronics designs, and design thinking, to innovation opportunities created by IMSE technology. Integrating electronic functionality in 3D shapes and very thin molded materials opens many new use cases for where and how electronics can be used while simplifying electromechanical integration.

Expanding our technical capabilities to North America is part of TactoTek’s strategic plan,” stated Marko Suo-Anttila, SVP Engineering, “we are very pleased to add Ron Haag as our Vice President of Product Engineering, Americas. Mr. Haag is a pioneer in printed electronics and injection molded electronics and brings extensive experience working with customers to help them realize their design visions.

With experience that includes T-Ink and Delphi, Mr. Haag has developed IMSE solutions for a wide range of customers and use cases, including automotive and home appliance applications. Mr. Haag noted, “TactoTek is the only company today that is capable of designing and manufacturing complete IMSE solutions in-house—vertical integration essential for quickly developing and optimizing solutions for mass production.

TactoTek partners with customers to implement their concepts in IMSE designs, and ready those parts for mass production through agile product development processes. TactoTek can mass produce parts, or license its technology and know-how to third party manufacturers.
