Valo Motion introduces ValoArena; a groundbreaking mixed reality active whole-body gaming experience
A revolutionary multiplayer arena using Valo Motion’s proprietary state-of-the-art camera technology eliminates the need for headsets and hand-held controllers, adding a new level of physical activity to interactive gameplay.
Today, Valo Motion, the pioneering Finnish mixed reality gaming company, unveiled its new immersive mixed reality indoor space, ValoArena. The first public installation will open at SuperPark in Vantaa, Finland, on February 19th and feature three different games launched within the platform.
Designed for activity parks and other indoor leisure and hospitality spaces, the freeform game follows ValoClimb and ValoJump, its other mixed reality systems, requiring no attendant or wearables for gameplay. In ValoArena, groups of up to six players choose between three different games to compete together in a simultaneously physical and virtual space on an arena-like stage where spectators can watch and cheer.
“The world is opening up again after two years of us being isolated in our own spaces,” said Raine Kajastila of Valo Motion. “With our previous products, we learned that playing together with a group of friends is the most fun and rewarding way to be active. With ValoArena, we wanted to create a game platform that allows a bigger group to experience active games together.
The pandemic has caused kids and teens to become less active at an alarming rate. We are hoping that the spirit of physical, social gaming will further motivate people to get active and find new joy in exercising.”
SuperPark has been finalizing the flagship installation of ValoArena for the past week in preparation for active users. In 2021 alone, the Valo Motion games were played almost 12.5 million times at activity centers and parks worldwide.

The next ValoArena installation will be completed in the Netherlands this month, together with Valo Motion's partner ELI play. Valo Motion is currently offering the product to selected installation locations internationally and taking new orders for Q3 2022 onwards.
