Sardus: Positive outlook for 2003

Report this content

The year 2002 was a record one for Sardus, the specialist in sandwich foods and light meals, with the largest annual increase in sales and earnings since the company was listed publicly in 1997. During the year Sardus also conducted an overview of its business concept and strategies that involves a broader focus on processed ingredients for light meals in the Nordic market. Based on the above, the Board of Directors of Sardus has formulated its estimate of the outlook for 2003: Sardus' markets are scarcely affected by changes in the general economy. The estimate is that the patterns of consumption and demand will continue to be stable, as will competitive conditions in 2003. Our market position is strong, with a multiple-year trend of gains in market shares, which – together with the broadened strategy – offers opportunities for continued growth. Accordingly, based on current market conditions, the favorable trend during the past year provides conditions for a continued increase in earnings. As announced earlier, the Board of Directors is proposing that the Annual General Meeting on March 31, 2003 approve an increase in the dividend to SEK 4.50 (4.25) per share for the fiscal year 2002.
